Daily Fix (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an exam preparation platform that provides AI-curated news summaries and practice questions. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

Data We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google — we do not receive or store your Google password.

Usage data

We store your quiz attempts, practice test results, question responses, bookmarked sections, and feedback submissions. This data is tied to your account so you can track your progress over time.

Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics — page views, feature interactions, and performance metrics. PostHog may set cookies on your browser to distinguish unique visitors. We do not sell this data or share it with advertisers.

How We Use Your Data

• Authenticate your account and maintain your session
• Store and display your practice history and performance stats
• Save your bookmarked news sections
• Improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns
• Send transactional emails (e.g. password reset) if applicable

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or train AI models on your personal information.

Third-Party Services

• Convex — database and backend infrastructure where your account and usage data is stored
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in provider; governed by Google's Privacy Policy
• PostHog — product analytics; governed by PostHog's Privacy Policy
• Vercel — hosting and CDN for the web application

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens) and analytics cookies via PostHog to understand how the platform is used. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies from third-party ad networks.

Data Retention

Your account data and practice history are retained as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregate analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your practice history and quiz data

Security

Passwords are hashed before storage. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure — we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via a notice on the platform. Continued use of Daily Fix after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
